Yoga Video:
Making Connections 4 – Moving into the Deep Front Line
Feeling supported in your body doesn’t always come from tightening muscles or trying harder – it can come from discovering the deeper connections already working within you. This workshop invites you to explore the relationships between your feet, inner legs, pelvis, spine and breath, discovering how greater awareness of this deep inner support can influence your balance, stability and ease of movement.
.
Where intelligent movement meets the science of connection – An advanced yoga anatomy and somatics workshop for teachers and experienced practitioners
.
The Deep Front Line is the body’s primary system for postural support, breath efficiency, and core stability – yet it’s rarely explored in depth. In the fourth masterclass of the Making Connections series, Catherine Annis and Gary Carter guide you through a research-led, experiential investigation into this essential myofascial architecture, revealing how it shapes movement, balance, and internal support.
Through targeted somatic practice and functional anatomy insights, you’ll explore how the body’s innate stabilising structures – the psoas, diaphragm, pelvic floor, adductors and deep cervical fascia – work together to create effortless alignment and responsive stability. You’ll learn to identify compensation patterns, map internal support systems, and apply breath and fascial continuity to enhance resilience, balance and structural integrity.
This training deepens your anatomical literacy, elevates your teaching, and expands your understanding of the science of movement. By the end, you’ll walk away with a nuanced grasp of myofascial integration, improved interoceptive skills, and a precise toolkit for guiding others with clarity, intelligence, and anatomical accuracy.
.
What You’ll Experience:
Advanced Myofascial & Somatic Training
- Deep Front Line refinement that reorganises posture, improves load distribution, and reduces muscular overwork
- Diaphragm–pelvic floor synchronisation to optimise breath efficiency, core responsiveness, and nervous-system regulation
- Integrated core stability using evidence-informed strategies rooted in fascia, breath mechanics, and functional anatomy
- Release techniques for deep-seated tension patterns, especially through the psoas, adductors, diaphragm, and pelvic floor
- Sharper proprioception and interoception, strengthening your ability to assess movement and cue with precision and clarity
- Functional movement principles for injury mitigation, joint support, and long-term structural health
- Embodied understanding of myofascial integration, enabling you to translate complex anatomical concepts into accessible, experiential teaching
.
Who This Is For:
Designed for Teachers & Serious Practitioners
- Yoga teachers seeking advanced anatomy training and more precise, science-informed cueing
- Experienced practitioners wanting to deepen their somatic awareness and internal support systems
- Movement educators, Pilates instructors, and bodyworkers exploring fascia-based movement principles
- Practitioners with chronic tension or postural imbalance seeking root-cause solutions rather than surface corrections
- Anyone committed to developing sustainable, intelligent, and anatomically informed movement practice
.
What Makes This Different:
Science-Led. Somatically Integrated. Professionally Relevant
- Grounded in the latest research on fascia, breath mechanics, and functional anatomy
- A focused deep-dive into the Deep Front Line, essential for advanced movement and breathwork
- Emphasises direct somatic experience so you teach from embodiment, not theory
- Provides repeatable frameworks ideal for group classes, workshops, and 1:1 sessions
- Integrates muscular, fascial, visceral, and respiratory systems for a truly holistic approach
