Strength Class Videos

What if feeling stronger wasn’t about pushing yourself harder, but about moving through everyday life with more steadiness, confidence and ease? These Strength for Yoga recordings help you build practical, supportive strength at your own pace, so your body feels more capable both in your yoga practice and in the things you do every day.

Suitable for all levels

STRENGTH : Movement Foundations 3: Shoulders

Do your shoulders sometimes feel as though they’re not quite doing the job you’re asking of them? Perhaps reaching overhead feels tight or catches, your neck starts working harder, or your lower back joins in when your arms go above your head.

This third Movement Foundations session looks at how your shoulder blades move around your ribcage and how that affects your shoulders, upper back and neck. You’ll learn to recognise when other parts of your body are taking over and develop better control, stability and strength.

Using a foam roller, Pilates ball and resistance band, we’ll progress from simple movements lying down to work on all fours and standing rotator cuff strengthening. You’ll explore how to move your shoulder blades separately from your ribcage and spine, then gradually add resistance while keeping that control.

The aim isn’t simply more flexible shoulders. It’s stronger, more dependable shoulders for reaching, carrying, pushing and lifting, without your neck or lower back doing more than their fair share.

A practical session to return to whenever your shoulders need a little more attention again.

STRENGTH : Movement Foundations 2: Glutes

What if your glutes were doing just a little more of the quiet, behind the scenes work, so that walking, climbing stairs and lowering into a chair all felt smoother and more supported from the back of your body?

Do you ever feel your hamstrings taking over when you’re working your glutes? Or find that exercises such as clams or bridges end up in your lower back rather than where you expect them to? Perhaps you know your glutes are important, but aren’t quite sure how to use them effectively.

The second in our Movement Foundations series, this technique-focused session explores how your glutes contribute to hip stability, pelvic control, balance and whole-body movement.

We’ll work through a range of exercises and progressions, from simple floor-based movements to more challenging single-leg work. You’ll practise keeping the pelvis stable while the legs move, building towards Scooter – a whole-body movement that challenges your strength, balance and ability to keep your torso organised while moving from one leg to the other.

STRENGTH : Movement Foundations 1: Abdominals

Imagine core work that feels less like bracing your stomach and more like discovering a quietly powerful lift from inside, as your breath, ribs and pelvic floor work together to make your whole body feel lighter and more supported.

Do you ever find that abdominal exercises leave your lower back feeling uncomfortable, your neck feeling sore or even give you a headache? Or perhaps you’ve noticed your abdomen doming during certain movements and wondered why?

The first in our Movement Foundations series, this technique-focused session teaches you how to use your abdominal muscles effectively and appropriately, so you can build strength without losing control.

Drawing on Pilates and functional movement principles, we’ll explore how your breathing – and the position of your ribs, pelvis and spine  – influence the way your abdominals work. You’ll learn what you’re looking for, what good technique feels like, and how to adapt an exercise when you’re reaching the edge of your control – rather than simply pushing harder.

STRENGTH : Stronger Feet, Better Balance & Core Support

Being steady on your feet doesn’t mean never wobbling. In fact, those small moments of instability give your body valuable opportunities to respond, adjust and develop the strength and coordination that help you feel more confident in everyday movement.

This class begins from the ground up, helping you develop stronger, more responsive feet and ankles before progressing into balance and single-leg work. You’ll explore gentle instability in a supported way, encouraging the smaller stabilising muscles to become more involved as you find your balance.

From there, controlled strengthening exercises for your abdominals, hips, glutes and back help you develop the deeper support that contributes to stability throughout your body. The pace is calm and considered, with options that allow you to build strength gradually without rushing or forcing.

Whether you want to feel steadier when walking, more confident on uneven ground or better supported in your yoga practice, this class offers a practical way to develop strength, balance and coordination from the ground upwards.

STRENGTH : Strong Glutes & Stable Shoulders

Strong, responsive hips can make a noticeable difference to the way you balance, walk, climb and move through everyday life. This class helps you build that practical strength through focused work for your glutes and hip stabilisers, while also developing the shoulder support you need for lifting, carrying and weight-bearing movement.

Using resistance bands, weights and carefully layered exercises, you’ll work progressively with your hips, pelvis, shoulders and upper back. Slow, controlled repetitions encourage you to notice how you’re moving, refine your technique and build strength without relying on speed or momentum.

Particular attention is given to the glutes, helping you develop the strength and endurance that contribute to pelvic stability, balance and confident weight transfer. Shoulder work complements this by developing greater control and support through your upper body.

Ideal if you already have some experience of strength work and want to progress, this class offers a purposeful challenge that can help you feel steadier, stronger and more capable in your yoga practice and the movements of everyday life.

STRENGTH : Functional Strength for the Whole Body

Everyday life asks your whole body to work together - whether you’re walking over uneven ground, carrying shopping, climbing stairs or simply staying steady as you move. This class helps you develop the kind of practical, connected strength that supports those everyday demands while complementing your yoga practice.

Through slow, controlled movement, you’ll work with your feet, legs, hips, glutes and core, exploring how strength and support travel through your body. Balance work, resistance exercises and carefully considered strengthening sequences encourage greater coordination and stability without relying on speed or high-impact movement.

Rather than simply working individual muscles, you’ll develop a clearer sense of how different parts of your body cooperate when you bear weight, balance and move. The emphasis on precision and awareness allows you to challenge yourself while remaining attentive to your own body and its responses.

Ideal if you want strength that feels genuinely useful, this class offers a thoughtful way to become steadier, more coordinated and more confident in both your yoga practice and everyday movement.

STRENGTH : Controlled, Whole-Body Conditioning

Strength doesn’t have to come from moving faster, lifting heavier or pushing yourself to exhaustion. This whole-body class invites you to slow things down and discover how controlled, purposeful movement can help you build strength while staying attentive to how your body feels.

Working at a steady, deliberate pace, you’ll develop strength through your core, hips, shoulders and the rest of your body, with an emphasis on control, stability and good movement quality. Simple props and clear guidance help you become more aware of how you organise each movement, while adaptable options allow you to choose an appropriate level of challenge.

Rather than adding unnecessary tension, you’ll explore how to use effort more efficiently, developing strength that supports your joints and carries naturally into everyday activities.

Ideal if you want to feel stronger without an intense workout, this class offers a thoughtful balance of physical challenge and mindful attention - helping you develop a body that feels more supported, capable and confident in both your yoga practice and daily life.

STRENGTH : Grounded Strength - Feet, Toes & Ankles

Every step, change of direction and moment of balance begins with your feet, yet they’re often one of the most overlooked parts of the body when it comes to building strength. This class gives you the opportunity to rediscover just how much your feet, toes and ankles contribute to feeling steady, supported and confident in movement.

Through practical, accessible exercises, you’ll explore toe strength and independence, mobilise your ankles and develop greater coordination between your feet and the rest of your body.
