Somatic Yoga + Yoga Nidra Video:
Bluebell Wood – For Deep Rest, Clarity & Nervous System Reset

This soothing Somatic Yoga and Yoga Nidra practice is designed to calm the nervous system, release physical tension and guide you gently into a state of deep rest, clarity and quiet. Blending mindful, exploratory movement with a richly guided Yoga Nidra, it offers a complete reset for body and mind – ideal at the end of a long day, during stressful periods, or whenever you need to restore your energy and inner balance.

We begin on the floor with gentle somatic movements that invite you to move from the inside out. There is no forcing, no striving and no need to “get it right”. Instead, you’re encouraged to explore how your body wants to move: rocking the pelvis to ease the lower back, gently spiralling through the spine, sliding and unfolding the legs to release hips and hamstrings, and allowing the shoulders, neck and ribcage to soften. These subtle, conscious movements help unwind habitual holding patterns, improve comfort and mobility, and calm the nervous system, so that by the time we come to stillness, you feel more grounded, spacious and at home in your body.

From there, you’ll be guided into a deeply restful Yoga Nidra journey, set in an early summer woodland filled with bluebells, birdsong, soft green light and the murmur of a stream.  Together, we’ll drift into the hypnagogic state, that delicate threshold between waking and sleep. In this liminal space, surface thoughts can quieten, the “clouds” of the mind begin to clear, and you may sink into a deeper sense of inner stillness, creativity and insight. The practice offers a safe container for profound rest, emotional settling and mental clarity, as if your whole system is being quietly re-tuned.

.

Whether you remain awake, drift into the delicious hypnagogic state, or fall asleep, your body will take exactly what it needs. Many people find they emerge feeling clearer, calmer and more refreshed than after a nap, with softer muscles, easier breathing and a quieter mind.

This is a practice you’ll return to again and again whenever you need to unwind, reset and reconnect with yourself.
