If you’d like to look at common hip issues and explore practical ways that yoga can help, join us for Part Two of Pelvic Balance.  In this, the second part of our workshop exploring pelvic balance, we take a deep dive into the links between physical issues and our emotions and explore how our pelvis is affected by our nervous system.

During this workshop we’ll take a closer look at some common issues which you or those you share practice with may be experiencing or working with in yoga and look at some practical ways to help.

Together, we will:

• Briefly recap the structure and function of the pelvis

• Look at common sacro-iliac joint issues and see how we can work with them in yoga

• Build strength and stability to support pelvic and joint health

• Look at ways we can work intelligently to avoid developing overuse injuries

• Look at common issues eg labral tears, sciatica, hip replacements, pelvic imbalance

• The effect of changing hormones during menopause

• The delicate relationship between our pelvis and our emotional selves

This workshop is for you if:

• You’d like to understand more about the anatomy and function of your pelvis

• You’re a teacher and would like to find some new more functional ways of working with the pelvis during class

• You’ve realised that too much hip opening has stopped being helpful and you have a sneaky suspicion that maybe there’s another, more healthy way of working with the pelvis

• You’re on the hypermobile spectrum or working with peri-menopause or menopause and would like to explore a more intelligent approach to your joints, especially the hips

• To discuss how we can adapt and personalise our practice to create healthy, beneficial movement patterns that will support us for life

• You’re working with common hip issues or would like to build more strength and sensitivity around your pelvis

The unique Zoom link for this yoga workshop will be sent out approximately half an hour before the scheduled start.

How to join live streaming workshops via Zoom

I will be using Zoom, a free online platform to live stream this workshop.  You will be able to connect directly to us from the comfort of your own home either through your PC, laptop, mobile or tablet.

It's easy to set up - please follow these simple instructions:

Download and create your free Zoom account.  Please do this well in advance to make sure audio and video are working.

We will send you a unique Zoom link at least an hour before the workshop starts so you can register well ahead of the start time.  You will then receive an email confirming your place with a link to the workshop.  Follow the simple online instructions.  Please log in 10 - 15 minutes before the start of each workshop so we can begin on time.

How to join Zoom Cloud Meetings for online classes:

If you’ve never used Zoom before, please take the time to download the free Zoom app on whichever device you use for joining live classes (on iPads and smart phones it is 'Zoom Cloud Meetings' from the App store). On computers and laptops it is: Follow Zoom's simple instructions to set up your account.
