Spain Scaravelli Yoga Retreat
Suryalila is a composite of two Sanskrit words. Surya refers to the ancient sun god and lila means cosmic play (of the gods). Together the words mean “Cosmic Play of the Sun”.
This relaxing eco-retreat is nestled serenely in a large open valley in the foothills of the Sierra de Grazelema Natural Park. This majestic mountain range can be seen looming large on the horizon behind Suryalila. A striking part of the natural beauty of this yoga retreat is the breathtaking vistas extending in all directions: rolling hills, fields of sunflowers, and lakes.
Relax in a hammock, walk the trails to an ancient monastery, delight in the gardens, daydream, explore the nearby villages, treat yourself to a massage, work on your tan, read by the pool, say hello to the animals. Observe and live the art of sustainable architecture first-hand from our hosts.
The accommodation is both soothing to the soul and delightful to the eye. The furnishings and the room decorations have all been imported from Bali, India and Morocco. The Spanish farmhouse-style wooden ceilings with beams and the terracotta tiled floors blend harmoniously with the exotic Asian furniture and wall hangings. Choose to stay in either the farmhouse buildings or the sustainably built Eco Casas. The Eco Casas contains three charming and romantic eco-friendly rooms built from sustainable cob - straw bale & mud, which all have access to the very pleasant nearby hot showers and toilets.
No matter where you sleep, there is even the option to try the sustainable outdoor shower that works to water the gardens. Watch for rainbows galore while splashing under a bluebird blue sky. It’s heaven!
Accommodation
Each of the bedrooms has the capacity to sleep two. If you are planning on coming on this retreat as a person on your own, we would pair you up with another same sex person travelling on their own. Alternatively, if you fancy more privacy, each room is available for single occupancy.
Ananda Shanti Delux: en suite, double bedroom located on the ground floor of Casa Ananda. Casa Ananda is one of the lovely houses overlooking the Plaza de las Naranjas, the charming main courtyard. The house is fully furnished with beautiful furniture and fittings from Bali and Morocco.
Ananda Twin: two single beds in Casa Ananda, located in the beautiful tower house. You will enjoy a communal lounge area with a stunning view. This room shares a bathroom with one other room.
Eco Casa, Soma: Is a beautiful eco-friendly double room built from sustainable cob (straw bale & mud). It is charming with its romantic character. One double bed, shared bathroom close by.
Eco Casa, Maya: two single beds, shared bathroom close by. Eco Casa Maya is beautiful eco-friendly room built from sustainable cob (straw bale & mud). This is a twin room. Maya in Sanskrit means “magic” or “illusion”.

Food
Three beautiful vegetarian meals a day will be presented buffet style in the farmhouse dining room. Suryalila is renowned for the outstanding quality of their kitchen. The meals will be vegetarian and organic with much of the produce coming from their own permaculture garden. Special diets and allergies e.g. wheat free, gluten free, vegan, nut allergies? No worries, when booking just let us know your dietary requirements. With such bounty it is unlikely you could ever be hungry, but just in case…fresh juices, smoothies, wine and snacks are available for purchase.
