Zoom Online Yoga Classes

How do I access online classes?

I use Zoom, a free online platform to stream my classes.

It's easy to set up - please follow these simple instructions:

Download and create your free Zoom account.  I suggest you set up Zoom well in advance to make sure audio and video are working.

Please log in 10 - 15 minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

How to join Zoom Cloud Meetings for online classes:

∗  If you’ve never used Zoom before, please take the time to download the free Zoom app on whichever device you use for joining live classes (on iPads and smart phones it is 'Zoom Cloud Meetings' from the App store). On computers and laptops it is: zoom.us. Follow Zoom's simple instructions to set up your account.

How to register for your chosen class

∗  Please click here to complete the online class booking form.

∗  Please send your payment as soon as possible and at least one hour before the class starts. Payments can be made by clicking here.  We'll send you an email with a unique link to your chosen class at least one hour before the class begins.

∗  To join the class, please click on the link in the email we sent you.  This will take you directly into Zoom where you will be asked to fill in your details before clicking 'Register'.  You will be taken to a new screen.  Please click on the link provided where you will be taken into a waiting area until the class begins.

∗  We will open the class 15 mins before the class starts to give you time to familiarise yourself with the process. Once the class begins I won't be able to help with any technical issues so be sure to familiarise yourself by checking in early.

∗  Please email me with any injuries or medical conditions which may affect your ability to practice.

How To Pay

∗ Please pay via bank transfer. We'll forward our account details once we have received your booking.

∗ If this is not possible, please email me and I will forward my PayPal account details to you.  Please send your payment as soon as possible and at least one hour before the class starts.

∗ Please include the date and time of your class (or classes) in the 'add a note' section so that we can allocate your payment to the correct class.

∗ You will receive an email with the unique Zoom access code giving you entry to the class at least an hour before the class is scheduled to start.

∗ I'd love to be able to offer free classes to everyone and although I can't do that, I'd still like this class to be as inclusive as possible, so if the cost is more than you can afford right now, please let me know.

Once I've Joined a Class

∗  It would be helpful for me to be able to see you during class and it helps us to connect as a group.
If you'd like me to see you, please switch your video on when you get settled.  There is an option to test the video before we start so you can see what it looks like.  If you prefer to join the class without a video connection, it’s also fine to leave video off.

∗  Please arrange yourself so that I can see in both standing and lying positions. Please also have any cushions, blankets or other props you need close at hand.

∗  When you join the class, please could you ensure that you mute your microphone through the Zoom microphone icon. .

∗  If you’d like to ask about anything as we go through class, please wave and I’ll unmute you so we can hear your question.

∗  After the class ends you have the option to unmute yourself and chat with the teacher and other students should you wish.

∗  If you are unable to get into the class for technical reasons any payments already made can be used towards a future class.

What props do I need?

∗  If you don't have your own yoga mat, then a carpet or rug is fine.

∗  A yoga block / large hardback book or a cushion for sitting.  Blankets and cushions as necessary for padding the knees and for comfort during meditation / Savasana.

∗  Wear leggings or loose comfortable clothes suitable for movement.

Testimonials

Lee

Initially I was unsure about online yoga practice, but it was so lovely to reconnect with Catherine, it made things feel a little more normal for an hour. I had a chance to relax and breathe, get out of my head and back into my body.

It was just what I needed. Seeing the other students via Zoom gave a sense of community. Fantastic, and I didn’t even have to leave home.

Justine

Thanks so much for the yoga class tonight, that was a lovely way to wind down from the week.

It was great just what I needed.

Chrissie

Thank you Catherine, that was a beautiful online yoga class.

Will try and get another class in before I get drawn into the real world.

Natasha

It was such a sense of community - it provided strength, safety, continuity and hope in times of immense challenge.

Catherine used all her senses and skill to bring us into a shared virtual space - where we could practice yoga alone but feel connected.

Thank you

Mick

This was my first attempt at online Yoga and I booked it with some trepidation. But it was great, and Catherine was excellent. Her online cues were excellent and there was still a sense of connection. There was a sense of being with her and that really surprised me.

I will be booking another Zoom online yoga session soon.
