Suryalila, originally an olive hacienda, is a fabulous retreat centre located in the heart of Andalucia, close to the charming villages of Arcos de la Frontera and Prado del Ray. It is less than an hours drive away from the historic and beautiful cities of Cadiz and Seville and the very best unspoilt beaches in Spain.
On the edge of a mountainous national park, the property sits in a large river valley overlooking rolling hills and in the far distance, the white village of Bornos, situated by the side of a large lake.
With its beautifully decorated rooms, gorgeous rolling hills and olive groves, sauna, salt water pool and nourishing meals, Suryalila offers it all.
Suryalila has a magnificent dome yoga shala. This stunning space with underfloor heating has a dome window with breathtaking views across the rolling hills.
Throughout the day you will be offered three delicious vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Suryalila kitchen specialises in gourmet international vegetarian cuisine, using the freshest seasonal, locally-sourced organic fruits and vegetables available, artfully prepared in a varied and truly eclectic international menu.
Between yoga classes there will be the chance to explore the beautiful natural surroundings or simply relax.
Suryalila offers luxurious, comfortable, designer decorated accommodation in little houses each with their own kitchen and living room area.
There are different levels of accommodation to suit every budget, including doubles with private bathrooms, singles, twins and spacious mini dormitories for up to four people.
Beautiful yurts and canvas tents with proper beds, furniture and electricity are also on offer for those who want something comfortable but more affordable and to get closer to nature.
The Om Dome Yoga Hall
Suryalila has designed and created a state-of-the-art yoga hall inside a beautiful geodesic Dome.
The dome has an underfloor heating and cooling system, a state-of-the-art sound system and atmospheric lighting. It is fully equipped with Manduka Pro Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and eye pillows.
The outside of the Dome has been constructed to resemble a Nepalese temple with a golden stupa on top, prayer flags and the Buddha eyes. Inside the Dome there are two long solid walls (so yoga students can practice inversions), which are beautifully decorated with a beautiful mural of Hindu and Tibetan imagery.
In the Dome there is a massive bay window overlooking one of our best views of beautiful rolling hills and a ruined convent.
Eco Pool, Suna & Relaxation
At Suryalila Yoga Retreat Centre, you can relax and rejuvenate in our natural salt water pool.
The pool is set amidst stunning and vast vistas of the beautiful Spanish countryside. There is a lovely covered terrace with dappled light which offers shade from the hottest part of the day. You can also choose to sun yourself poolside on our wooden sun-beds in the full sunshine.
The pool is kept chlorine-free, and the salt water makes you wonderfully buoyant! Perfect for floating on your back as the clouds drift by. There are fresh water poolside showers and all guests are provided with large bath sheet on arrival.
Suryalila is constantly upgrading their facilities. Their latest addition is the Eco Sauna! It was built out of completely natural materials – mainly clay and cob. You will be able to enjoy the rejuvenating and detoxifying effect of our cosy sauna up to three times a week.

The new Moroccan pavilion contains colourfully embroidered cushions from India, Guatemala and Bali as well as a Moroccan silver tray table. It is a great spot to relax, read a book, contemplate the expansive views, or watch the glorious Suryalila sunsets.
The front pagoda is graceful and elegant and overlooks the vegetable garden and the glorious view of Bornos Lake.
The back pagoda is peaceful and also has lovely views over the ruined convent and rolling hills. Both pagodas have benches, lounging chairs and hammocks.
